Plank In the Eye

REMOVE THE PLANK AND HELP LAY A PATH FORWARD

I am a lifelong conservative who loves Jesus and her neighbors. I cannot stand what Donald Trump has done to this nation. I am horrified that loved ones could support the man with a vote. I am going to blog for my sanity. I am going to blog to support others in this situation. I am going to blog and post obvious “plank in your eye” situations in the hopes that maybe it will dawn on Trump supporters how insane some of their positions are.

Matthew 7:3-5 NIV  “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

I am going to do my best, not to throw stones, to illustrate what they cannot see. Please read the FAQ below and clear up any assumptions you have before you start throwing stones as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a liberal or a Democrat?

No
  • No

Are you a conservative or Republican?

I was a Republican until Trump. I am still fairly conservative with some libertarian social ideas. I have no idea what Trump voters think they are, but they believe something far different than the party I grew up with.

Are you a Christian?

I am a very flawed Christian who has made many mistakes and doesn’t claim to be perfect. What I do claim – is that I am trying my best every day.

What if I am liberal, atheist, agnostic?

Welcome. You likely see the point of this as well.

What about the hypocrisy and bad deeds from the other side?

This is not about that. I do not contend there is no hypocrisy in both parties and in most people. I believe more damage is done to any personal view or point when you inspect others with a massive plank in your own eye. Once I finish on the Trump-related hypocrisies, or at least the first big ones, I might throw in others or even my own.

Basically – two wrongs don’t make a right.
